I just got this shown to me. Yes it has been a while since I posted on the blog and I have no idea why. I think it’s the excessive motorcycle riding. I’ve only had my bike for 2 weeks and have already clocked 400 miles! But this, this is definitely worth posting.

It’s so deep and blimey it’s one hell of a remix of Velvet Tux’s track ‘Feelin’, remixed by Velvet Tux himself. It reminds me of the hybrid between Deep House and Dubstep, which many producers these days are trying to accomplish, but I think Velvet Tux has come far to bridging the two together to create one bassy masterpiece.

So much for VIPs eh?

Rory aka RaWwZ aka RWZ is going in yet again on his new music video. The colour switch ups in the video got me tripping out! Big ups to Listen Up LDN on the camera and editing, they smashed it.

Speaking of tripping, reason why I rate Rory is because he’s never tripping or high when he does his videos/freestyles. Yeah it’s alright to have a joint or two but allow being high on camera. RaWwZ determination and focus shows in the video, which is why he deserves the attention and publicity he needs more of. Smashing.

Camo & Krooked feat. Skittles

Some Dubstep for you guys this morning/afternoon. I know, I know I haven’t blogged on here for AGES, that’s down to me focusing on me doing my CBT and getting my bike, insurance etc. and that’s all sorted! I’ll probably put up a few pictures today of my bike, I love her to bits.

But I was playing Fifa Street and I came across this tune. What I love about the game is that when you score a goal and go H.A.M, the tune drops so it makes the instant replay look so badass. It’s definitely worth getting if shouting at your screen, gassing about your goal is your type of thing.

So one of the blog’s writers moonlights as a vocalist…

Dean Holder or more so the awesome dude known as OFAV…is secretly a vocalist! He’s done a couple songs in the past with Alex Kingshott, the guy behind the production of this 30 second demo.

I know what you’re going to say….he raps in one tone. You tell that to Maxi Jazz from Faithless. His group sold millions of records because Maxi Jazz likes to tear off tights on the heath, because he has Insomnia.

I’m learning how to produce music, and I said to Dean that I’m going to get him on board on a track or two when I can develop my logic in Logic Pro and get that Techno vibe flowing. Have a listen, it’s dopalicious.

Now this is something. For those who love their UK Bass Music, here’s one for you lot! Creecha, an unsigned underground London-based electronic act released their debut video for their track “U & I”. One of the members, Sarah who is featured in the video, sent me the demo with a few other amazing tracks on not too long ago and I have to admit, it’s something I havent heard before.

When listening to this track, one thing came to mind…this track is literally shouting “remix me.” the simple yet deep structure and melody of it means that many styles can be remixed from it. Fybe:one from record label Shades of Grey announced a few days ago that he would remix this track, so stay tuned here on YAB London for when I will post it!

Shystie dropped the video for her brand new single “Bad Gyal”. I’ve definitely been getting the vibe off this after hearing it on radio numerous times. Heck even JME is bigging it up!

The single is released on May 7th, and her EP titled ‘Pink Mist’ will drop soon after. The video is dope, all of you need to check it out!

So I’m here at Audio Doughnuts, and this is the first ever time I’ve posted from my iPhone. It’s at Crucifix Lane, not to far from the sweat Dubstep pit that is Cable, where many just go to grind some ass or get a blowjob on the sofas at the top of the bar. I’m just making assumpions, but hey that’s what most people do at a Dubstep rave isn’t it?

But yes, I bumped into Lando Kal, again, he’s still keeping it cool from last time I met him for the first time at Plan B, where my family (well I like to call them family), Shades Of Grey, booked him to perform at their night. There were brilliant vibes that night and photos are up on the Facebook page, which is http://www.facebook.com/yetanotherblogspot.

So as per for a first entrance post, if you’ve never been to Crucifix Lane, let me just tell you that it is a brilliant venue. The main room, which I’m standing in now as I post this, has a large tunnel shape, like a tube station with high ceilings. Acoustics are brilliant even though it is literally just a case of chucking a soundsystem in a tunnel!

Audio Doughnuts have also fitted not one, but two projectors with moving graphics. It definitely feels like an underground festival/concert, but I don’t want to call it a concert, because concert just sounds really mainstream. Henry Moller, Founder of Audio Doughnuts has actually just told me they have lasers installed today as well.

To conclude, I have to say so far, along with this melodic warm up set and my ice cold can of Red Stripe (literally kept in a bucket of ice), it’s not a case of heaven on Earth, but heaven under Earth.

Now you’re probably wondering, “Jamie, why the hell are you posting acoustic stuff? And OFAV? Why the rubbish change in name?”

Well wonder no more, people, as this is not Jamie, neither has he changed the name of the blog. This is OFAV (OneFourAudioVisual) and I have joined Jamie and his blog in his mission to bring you everything related to the artistic world.

Trying to put together a summary of what I can offer is proving quite difficult, YAB is already doing a great job in offering what he does. The only thing I can say that I can offer more of what YAB brings and maybe even widen the range of material that lands in the lap of YAB readers.

When speaking to Jamie, he told me that acoustic music/indie wasn’t his cup of tea, so for those who enjoy the sounds of UK Indie; I give you Northampton based band, Dirty Fair.

Here’s one for all of you peeps who love your Hip Hop and Breakdancing. At Plan B tonight, there will be a massive event, one you cannot miss really.

There will also be DJ sets on the night too, brilliant ones may I add. The highly underrated Deft, who DJed at the same event as last week, will be throwing down an epic Ableton Live DJ set alongside Manni Dee. Deft was so good, he managed to convince DJ Alex Kella, who I manage as well as take bookings for, that Ableton is a perfect DJing tool. Alex by the way, despised Ableton live sets… until last week.

Anyhew, I recommend you come down to this. It starts at 8:30 and finishes at 2am, but it gets packed out REAL QUICK on a Thursday. Must be a Plan B thing, I have no idea.

I cannot wait to take pictures tonight, HIGH SHUTTER SPEED IS A MUST!

I still listen to Dubstep…

I know I’ve been posting a lot of House recently, but that’s because I’ve grown up with it all my life. Mind you though, I still listen to Dubstep now and then. I was speaking to my good friend Harriet last night about Dubstep and I compared it to Ecstasy. I don’t like to talk about it in public because it makes me look like a hipster douche when I’m wearing my Air Max’s and chinos. I don’t listen to it a lot either, because like E, if you do a lot of it, it can abuse your musical taste.

But when I do listen to it, the drops hit you harder than a slipper being thrown by an Arab. Here’s ‘Karma Crazy’ by Magnetic Man. Insane. If you haven’t bought Magnetic Man’s album by now, then what the fuck are you doing with yourself?

Full Tilt - Take Me Away

Deep progressive house label Anjunadeep, sister label of Anjunabeats which is owned by Above and Beyond, released Full Tilt’s ‘Take Me Away’ single yesterday and I absolutely love it. It features two tracks, the Original Mix and the Andrew Bayer & James Grant remix.

The Andrew Bayer & James Grant mix is featured on the Anjunadeep 04 compilation, which I am yet to buy. I don’t know why, but I’ve seen the tracklisting on that and I own quite a few of the tracks on there. Never the less, mix CDs are always good for the travels!

Unfortunately, this EP is a Beatport exclusive which means that YOUR WALLET WILL TAKE A POUNDING. But I think it’s worth it, it’s a neat gem to add to your sets. The breakdown is absolutely orgasmic, yet ambient at the same time. Standard from Anjunadeep!

Tonight I shall be going to this event! The last time Nu’Hippy hosted an event was at Camden’s Barfly and they surprisingly filled it up for a weekday! Again, YAB is in association with this event, and it will see acts such as The Chase, Tides, Ian & The Bear, and one that I am very familiar with…Cloud Boat!

Happy Easter Everyone! A Little Bulletin…

I know I haven’t posted on here for a LONG time and I apologise so much! It’s maybe because University has dragged me down a lot. When I started in October, I thought Journalism would be fun to study. It so turns out that it is just boring news reporting, and has nothing on the glamour and style of my blog and the people that support it. Why write for someone, when you write for your readers?

I’ll be clever with my module choices next year - there’s a feature writing module and by the module description I can write about what I want in my assessments. If that’s the case, then sha-bang it should be a good module!

But it is Easter Sunday today! Hope you are all enjoying your Easter. I have to say, it does feel good writing again here on the blog, I’ve really missed writing for you all.

Anyways, here’s a track that I’ve been playing now and then. I actually played quite a few tracks from the Anjunadeep label at my DJ set on Friday night at Plan B. You can see a couple shots on my Facebook DJ Page here:
